Despite the loss of 2008 Olympian and 2011 NCAA beam champion Samantha Peszek to an Achilles tear, the UCLA gymnastics team has come together to post a 2-0 record and No. 1 national ranking.

After Peszek's injury on Dec. 17, the Bruins were faced with having to replace half of its routines from last year's NCAA Championships. And new faces emerged to step up in a big way, helping UCLA post a 196.150 in the season-opening win over Southern Utah and a national season-best 197.425 in last week's victory over Utah.
