UCLA Gymnastics Signs Asi Peko To National Letter-Of-Intent

UCLA head coach Valorie Kondos Field announced today the signing of Asi Peko to a national letter-of-intent. Peko, a former USA National Team member and current Level 10 standout, hails from Henderson, Nev. and trains at Brown's Gymnastics.
Peko won the all-around, vault, beam and floor at the 2011 Level 10 National Championships and also captured the all-around and beam titles at the Region 1 Championships. In 2010, she won the Level 10 national title on floor and was third in the all-around and second on vault. Additionally, she won the all-around, bars, beam and floor at the 2010 Level 10 Region 1 Championships. In 2008, competing at the junior level, she earned a spot on the USA National Team after placing fourth in the all-around at the Visa National Championships. She also earned silver on vault and floor.
"Asi Peko is one of the fiercest competitors in our sport," said Kondos Field. "She will definitely bring a lot of competitive passion as well as some powerful skills to our team."
Peko will join previously-signed Peng-Peng Lee, Danusia Francis and Sophina DeJesus as freshmen for the 2013 season.
