The 2001 UCLA gymnastics team made its season debut today at the annual "Meet the Bruins" event at the John Wooden Center.

Performing before a crowd of over 1,000 people, the defending national champion Bruins displayed their skills on the uneven bars and balance beam and unveiled two new floor exercise routines from freshman Yvonne Tousek and senior Mohini Bhardwaj.

Peppered throughout the performances were several question and answer sessions with coaches and gymnasts.

The event ended with the team and fans meeting each other in a post-event social.

UCLA's season begins Jan. 5 at the Maui Invitational. The Bruins' first home meet is Jan. 21 at Pauley Pavilion against NCAA runner-up Utah.
