What a great meet this weekend, eh?!

This is Kate and Peckett here, the Bruin Canadians. The meet this weekend had added excitement for us as we got a chance to reunite with three of our old Canadian teammates. But for all you non-Canadians out there, there were plenty of other things to be excited about too...

With excitement, energy, passion and tons of enthusiastic crowd support filling Pauley Pavilion on Sunday, we almost felt like we were back at the 2004 National Championships. Just like last year, we played hard, went after every tenth, and had fun doing it! And even though we still have work to do, and know there is room for improvement, it's exciting to see everything come together with this years Nationals in sight.

After a great week of practice, our team went into the meet with more confidence than we've had thus far this season. Last week's loss to Georgia was on our minds, and we knew that this was our last chance to compete in Pauley this season, so we were fired up to reclaim Bruin Territory!

It was great to recognize our seniors at their last home meet, and they definitely went out with a bang! It was their party, and their emotion inspired the rest of us to go out and play extra hard. Maloney had her best meet of the season (which is hard to do considering she competes so well every week). She left her mark in Pauley with a perfect 10 on bars, making her the first Bruin to score a 10 on every event. Teddy was obviously fired up, competing with a tenacity that spread throughout the team. And it was so much fun to close out the night watching Kisha perform on floor for her first time in Pauley Pavilion.

Celebrating with our seniors, competing with confidence, and having fun with our fans made it a great way to end our home season and pumped us up for our meets to come.

Thanks to all our fans, groupies and referees who have made our home meets memorable.

Get Excited... it's going to be an awesome Championship Season!
