Berkeley, Calif. - Sydney Leroux broke a scoreless tie in the 77th minute on Friday, propelling the third-ranked UCLA women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over No. 17 Cal at Edwards Stadium in Berkeley. With the win, the Bruins improve to 12-1-1 on the year and remain perfect in the Pac-10 at 3-0. Cal drops to 8-4-1 overall and 2-1 in conference action.

After 76 minutes of scoreless soccer, Leroux put in the game winner at the 76:35 mark on an assist from senior Lauren Cheney. Cheney sent a long pass to Leroux, who fired it off from inside the box for her 12th goal of the season.

UCLA outshot the Bears, 10-9 on the day. Bruin goalkeeper Chante' Sandiford made three stops for UCLA.

UCLA heads to top-ranked Stanford on Sunday. Match time is 1:00 p.m.
