LOS ANGELES - Second-ranked UCLA has been chosen as the fourth seed in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championships beginning this Week at schools across the country.
The Bruins (16-1-3) will host the first and second rounds of the tournament at Frank W. Marshall Field at Drake Stadium beginning Nov. 14. UCLA faces San Diego (9-7-4) in the first round on Friday evening at 8:00 p.m. The other first-round matchup that night will feature USC (9-7-4) taking on Pepperdine (13-5-1) at 5:30 p.m. Friday's winners will meet in the second round on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
It marks the second year in a row that both San Diego and USC have ended up at UCLA for the first and second rounds of the tournament. In 2002, UCLA defeated USC, 1-0 in double-overtime in the second round.
The Bruins defeated Pepperdine, San Diego and USC all by the same score (2-0) during the 2003 regular season.
