GiOnna DiSalvatore begins her first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the UCLA softball program in 2012 after completing an outstanding four-year career with the Bruins.

A two-time, first-team NFCA All-American, three-time All-Region selection, four-time All-Pac-10 honoree (two first team, two second team) and three-time Pac-10 Player of the Week, DiSalvatore ranks in the UCLA all-time Top 10 in seven offensive categories, including first in doubles with 65. She is also third in runs scored (177), sixth in hits (264), runs batted in (167) and total bases (417), eighth in at-bats (738) and 10th in walks (89).

DiSalvatore has three of the Top 10 single-season marks for doubles, posting 19 during UCLA's National Championship season of 2010 (T-2nd), 17 in 2011 (T-5th) and 16 in 2008 (T-8th). She also hit .358 during her four campaigns, batting over .320 every season, and adding 24 home runs, a .565 slugging percentage and a .429 on base percentage, starting all 229 games she played in. DiSalvatore had 76 career multiple-hit games and 45 multi-RBI contests.

Last summer, DiSalvatore played with the National Pro Fastpitch League's NPF Diamonds and had nine hits in 46 at-bats in 20 games with three runs batted in, three doubles and five walks.

DiSalvatore graduated from UCLA with a degree in sociology in 2011.
