LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Freshman Stephany LaRosa recorded her first-career, four-hit game against 10th-ranked Baylor, homering and driving in three runs, as #14 UCLA claimed a 10-6 victory on Saturday at the Citrus Classic. In the Bruins' second game of the day, they lost 11-1 to #17 Auburn.

UCLA 10, Baylor 6

The 14th-ranked Bruins scored nine times through the first two innings and held on for a 10-6 victory over #10 Baylor in their first game on Saturday at the Citrus Classic. LaRosa recorded her first-career, four-hit game, homering and driving in three, while senior Samantha Camuso tied a school record with two triples, plating three.

Camuso became the 14th Bruin to post two three-baggers in a game, and the second in eight days, as LaRosa accomplished the feat against Georgia last Friday. Senior Katie Schroeder broke a single-game school record by getting hit three times, also scoring three runs. Sophomore Jessica Hall (6-3) picked up the win, striking out four and allowing six runs (five earned), 10 hits and three walks.

Baylor struck first with two runs on one swing in the top of the first, as Clare Hosack homered to left with Kathy Shelton aboard.

The Bruins responded with four in the bottom of the first. Schroeder was hit by a pitch, and one out later, moved to second on a single up the middle by LaRosa. After both runners moved up on a failed pickoff attempt, as second baseman Delaney Guy could not catch the throw from catcher Hosack, junior B.B. Bates singled to right to bring home Schroeder with UCLA's first run. Camuso then hit a sharp line drive to right, but Kayce Walker dove for it and missed, as Bates and LaRosa scored. Camuso reached third on the play, and when Guy made a throwing error on the relay home, Camuso scampered to the plate to make it 4-2.

Baylor scratched across another two-out run in the second. Sydney Wilson walked and moved to third on a single to right by Shelton. With Walker up, Shelton took off for second, and while the throw down was cut off, Wilson charged home to complete the double steal to make it 4-3.

UCLA broke it open with five in the second. With one out, Schroeder and Harrison had consecutive singles to right and LaRosa launched her third homer of the season to center to increase the advantage to 7-3. After Bates reached on an error by pitcher Liz Paul and stole second, Camuso hit her second triple of the game off the top of the wall in right field to make it 8-3. Sophomore Kellie Fox then laid down a perfect squeeze bunt in front of the circle, plating Camuso with UCLA's ninth run.

Baylor scored twice in the top of the fifth. Megan Turk homered to left-center to start the inning. Two outs later, and with runners at first and second, Shelbi Redfearn doubled down the left-field line to plate Guy to make it 9-5.

The Bruins got one of the runs back in the bottom of the inning. Schroeder opened the frame by getting hit for the third time, and one out later, moved to second on a single to right-center by LaRosa. After Schroeder and freshman Sam Duran, who was running for LaRosa, moved up on a wild pitch, Bates grounded one to short, bringing in Schroeder to make it 10-5.

The Lady Bears scored a run in the top of the seventh when Redfearn singled to center to score Guy, but they would fall short, as the Bruins held on to win it.

Auburn 11, UCLA 1

The Bruins scored a run in the second on an RBI single by Dani Yudin, but #17 Auburn scored the next 11 to win it by 10.

UCLA (13-6) had just three hits. Junior Destiny Rodino (1-1) struck out two and allowed six runs (two earned) and nine hits in 2 2/3 innings. Hall pitched the last 4 1/3, fanning two and giving up five runs and 10 hits.

The Bruins scored their lone run in the bottom of the second. Bates led off with a walk, moved to second on a Camuso sacrifice, advanced to third on a ground out by Fox and scored on Yudin's single through the left side to make it 1-0.

Auburn got on the board in a big way in the third with six runs, adding two in the sixth and three in the seventh.
