Bruins Earn #12 National Seed, Host Regionals

The Bruins received the #12 national seed for the NCAA Tournament, as announced on Sunday, and will host Regionals next weekend at Easton Stadium. UCLA will entertain Hofstra, Florida State and San Diego State.
In the first game on Friday, San Diego State will face Florida State at 3 p.m., while in the nightcap, UCLA will host Hofstra at 5:30 p.m. The rest of the weekend schedule is below.
The Bruins earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament, finishing the regular season with a 36-18 overall record and a 12-12 mark in the Pac-12 (T-4th). UCLA takes on Hofstra, which earned the Colonial Athletic Association's automatic bid into the field of 64 by virtue of winning the CAA Conference Tournament. The Pride are 38-13 overall and were a perfect 19-0 in league play.
UCLA faced Hofstra on March 4 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., with the Bruins coming away with a 9-4 victory. Andrea Harrison homered and drove in three, Stephany LaRosa had two hits, two RBI and a homer and three other Bruins had a pair of hits, as UCLA posted 14 as a team. Jessica Hall, who had two hits, also tossed 5 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for the win, striking out five.
Florida State is 46-14, finishing second in the Atlantic Coast Conference (16-5) and receiving an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament. San Diego State earned the Mountain West Conference's automatic bid, going 30-22 and 9-3 in league action.
UCLA played at San Diego State on Feb. 19 and came away with a 1-0 victory. Hall tossed a three-hitter with six strikeouts, Katie Schroeder posted two hits and Sam Duran scored the game-winning run in the fifth inning on an illegal pitch. The Bruins did not face Florida State this season.
All-session passes are $33 for adults and $22 for youths and students and single-day passes are $12 for adults and $8 for youths/students. All-session passes can be purchased in advance online here or by calling 310-UCLA-WIN (open daily, 10-4). They can also be purchased at Easton Stadium on gameday. Single-day passes are available on gameday only at Easton Stadium. All seats are general admission, first-come first-served.
