2013 UCLA Sand Volleyball Schedule (Subject to Change)

The inaugural UCLA sand volleyball schedule will feature eight dates of competition and two home matches on March 21 and April 3, with the culmination of the season taking place with the AVCA National Championship from May 3-5 in Gulf Shores, Ala.

The first-ever Bruin sand volleyball match will take place on Monday, March 11 against Florida State at 12 p.m. at Long Beach State's Campus Sand Courts.

That weekend, the Bruins will travel across town to USC's Merle Norman Stadium for a two-day event (March 16-17). UCLA will take on Loyola Marymount at 1 p.m. and USC at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 16. Then the following afternoon, the three teams will play a bracket-style event beginning at 1 p.m.

UCLA's first home match will take place on Thursday, March 21 when the Bruins host fellow first-year sand volleyball member Nebraska at 9 a.m. Thirteen days later, the Bruins entertain Loyola Marymount on Wednesday, April 3 at 2 p.m.

Both home matches, as well as UCLA practices, will take place at Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach.

On Wednesday, April 10, the Bruins will head to Pepperdine's home court at Zuma Beach in Malibu. UCLA takes on the defending national champions at 12 p.m. and Long Beach State at 1 p.m.

The final event of the regular season is the USA Volleyball Beach Collegiate Challenge, April 20-21 in Hermosa Beach. The dual competition takes place on Saturday, April 20, followed by the pairs competitions the following day.

The season wraps up with the AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball National Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala (May 3-5).
