Casciari comes off an outstanding four-year career in Westwood and an appearance at the NCAA Championships as a senior. She competed in the 200 fly and 100 fly, finishing 38th and 45th, respectively. At the Pac-12 Championships, Casciari was sixth in the 200 fly (1:57.03) and 10th in the 100 fly (53.10). She also swam on the winning 200 free relay team against USC that set a school, facility and meet record. Casciari claimed 100 fly race victories against Arizona and Arizona State, also winning the 200 fly versus ASU. She earned the team's Bruin Pride Award, as well as the Iron Effort Award for swimming. Last season wasn't the only one that Casciari competed at the NCAAs, as she also swam in the 100 and 200 fly, and 200 IM, at the 2010 and `11 Championships. As a sophomore, she broke the school record in the 200 fly at the NCAAs with a time of 1:54.87. She finished seventh to earn All-American honors. Casciari also finished 17th in the 100 fly (53.06) and earned honorable mention All-American accolades in the 400 medley and 800 free relays at the NCAAs. Outside of UCLA, Casciari competed at the Olympic Trials in 2012 in the 100 and 200 fly. She also participated at U.S. Nationals in the 100 and 200 fly, and 200 IM, in 2011 and the 200 fly in 2010. A native of Poway, Calif., Casciari is finishing up her degree in chemical engineering. |
