Competed at the U.S. Open in the 800 and mile, finishing sixth in the mile with a lifetime-best mark ... Also qualified for the World Championship Trials.

Finished sixth in the 1650 free and 18th in the 500 free at Pac-10s ... Was second in the 1650 free at USC ... Won the mile against California ... Placed second in the 1000 free at Stanford ... Won both the 500 and 1000 free against Washington ... At the UCI Invite, placed second in the 400 IM, fourth in the 50 free, ninth in the 200 back, 10th in the 100 breast and 11th in the 200 fly ... Was 10th in the mile and 12th in the 500 free at the Texas Invite ... Was second in the 1000 free and third in the 500 free against both Arizona and ASU ...
