Swimming Continues Strong Showing at Texas Invite

The UCLA swimmers had another solid day of competition at the Texas Invite in Austin on Friday as four NCAA "B" marks were achieved along with 10 season-bests and three lifetime-bests swims posted by the Bruins.
The 200 medley relay team started the night off on a high note as Andrea Reigel, Kelsey Louden, Stephanie Christofferson and Madison Fitzgerald swam a season-best and NCAA "B" time of 1:41.87 to finish eighth overall.
Karoline Sanderud then highlighted the team in the 400 IM as she finished 18th overall with a season-best and NCAA "B" mark of 4:16.45. Bianca Casciari was 20th with a time of 4:21.56, while Lauren Baker was 27th (4:20.92).
In the 200 free, Kathryn Murphy was the top finisher for UCLA as she swam in the D Final, finishing 30th overall with a time of 1:50.71 (1:50.62 in prelims).
Emily Weir had a big night in the 100 breast as she finished 22nd overall, while swimming in the C Final. She swam 1:03.85 in the final, but swam a lifetime and season-best of 1:03.10 in the prelims. In the D Final, Louden finished 28th (1:04.35) and Paige Treleven was 30th (1:04.64) as both women tallied season-best marks.
The 100 back was another solid event for UCLA as Anna Senko won the C Final with a season-best and NCAA "B" time of 54.70. Andrea Reigel (22nd, 55.32), Annie Stefanec (23rd, 55.45) and Jesse Bergman (2th, 55.77/55.06 in prelims) also posted season-best times. Bergman's prelim mark was a lifetime-best. Yasi Jahanshahi won the D Final with a lifetime-best and NCAA "B" mark of 55.05. Laurence Delisle, also in the D Final, was 30th overall with a time of 56.82 (56.18 in prelims).
Competition concludes on Saturday at the Texas Invite.
