Swimming & Diving on Facebook | Swimming & Diving on Twitter WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Sophomore Emma Ivory-Ganja was named the Pac-12 Conference Diver of the Month for November on Wednesday. Last month, she won the Three-Meter event at the Trojan Diving Invitational and also helped the 12th-ranked Bruins to Pac-12 victories over Arizona and Arizona State. After finishing first in the One-Meter diving preliminaries on Nov. 2 at the Trojan Diving Invite with a total of 253.10, she placed first in the finals of the Three-Meter event the following afternoon with a score of 309.50. On Nov. 9 against #16 Arizona State, Ivory-Ganja won both diving events, as she was first in the One-Meter (296.45) and the Three-Meter (324.00) to help the Bruins to a victory over the Sun Devils. She followed that up the next day with a first-place mark in the One-Meter event against ninth-ranked Arizona. The diving points for the Bruins were huge, as they defeated the Wildcats in a dual meet for the first time since 2000 by a margin of 157-141. Ivory-Ganja also took part in the Phill Hansel Invitational in her home state in Houston, Texas (Nov. 15-17). The sophomore reached the final in each event, placing 10th in the Three-Meter (309.70), eighth in the One-Meter (271.10) and seventh in the Platform (234.05). This is Ivory-Ganja's second Pac-12 Diver of the Month award, also earning the honor for the month of December 2011. It is UCLA's ninth conference Diver of the Month accolade. |
