Yellow Jackets Edge Bruins, 4-3 at ITA National Team Indoors

Madison, Wisc. - In a rematch of the 2007 NCAA Final, No. 7 Georgia Tech edged No. 3 UCLA, 4-3 on Sunday in a consolation match at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships at the University of Wisconsin's Nielsen Tennis Stadium. With the dual match tied at 3-3, Georgia Tech's Christy Striplin downed Bruin sophomore Maya Johansson, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(3) in the deciding match at No. 3 singles. Despite the loss, sophomore Andrea Remynse picked up a big win at No. 1 singles, defeating defending NCAA singles champion Amanda McDowell, 7-5, 6-1. McDowell is ranked No. 11 in the country. Yasmin Schnack and Carling Seguso were also singles winners for the Bruins on Sunday. UCLA (5-2) returns home next week to face Loyola Marymount on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
