MADISON, Wisc. -- The No. 2 ranked UCLA women's tennis team suffered a second loss during the USTA/ITA Women's National Indoor Team Championships today, this time falling to No. 9 ranked Mississippi in consolation play . 



It could not have been much closer as the decisive doubles match went into a tie breaker before Mississippi escaped with a 9-8(8) win on court No. 3. Pulling off the victory for Ole Miss was the team of Martina Crha and Irena Mihailova, while UCLA's team of Brandi Freudenberg and Cristina Popescu too the loss. 



The teams split singles play, with Mississippi claiming position Nos. 1-3 and UCLA rallying to win Nos. 4-6. Today's loss was the first dual-match setback for UCLA's No. 1 singles player Annica Cooper who fell to No. 3 ranked Agnes Muzamel. The Bruins' Kelly Rudolph battled back to claim a 6-7(4), 7-6(3), 6-1 victory over Martina Crha in the No. 4 slot.
