Bruins Down Buffaloes, 5-2 in Boulder

Boulder, Colo. - Making its first-ever Pac-12 road trip to the state of Colorado, the top-ranked UCLA women's tennis team dispatched of Colorado, 5-2 at the South Campus Courts in Boulder on Friday afternoon. With the win, the Bruins remain undefeated on the season at 15-0 overall and 2-0 in the Pac-12. The Buffaloes are still in search of their first conference victory, as they fall to 7-7 overall and 0-3 in the Pac-12. UCLA junior Pamela Montez turned in the most dominating singles performance of the day, dispatching of Erin Sanders, 6-0, 6-0 at court No. 3. Montez began the afternoon teaming with Robin Anderson at the No. 1 doubles position, beating Kristina Schleich and Julyette Steur, 8-3. Anderson was also a straight-set winner at the No. 1 singles spot, as she downed Schleich, 6-1, 6-3. Freshmen Chanelle Van Nguyen and Kaitlin Ray were also straight-set winners for UCLA. The Bruins actually owned a 5-0 lead in Friday's match until the Buffaloes finished off the afternoon with two wins at court Nos. 2 and 4. UCLA has a day off before facing Utah on Sunday in Salt Lake City.
