CHAMPAIGN, Ill.- The 1998 Women's Tennis NCAA Regional Final will match top-seeded UCLA and No. 2 seed Notre Dame on Sunday at the University of Illinois Atkins Tennis Center.
UCLA routed the No. 4 seed Indiana 5-0 on Saturday to advance to Sunday's championship match. The clinching win for the Bruins came at No. 4 when Kati Koscis defeated Jessica Anderson in three sets. UCLA swept the remaining four singles matches to earn the win. At No. 2, Elizabeth Schmidt won, Cristina Popescu won at No. 3, Kelly Rudolph won at No. 5 and Bandi Freudenberg won at No. 6.
Notre Dame defeated Wisconsin to to reach the championship match. The time for Sunday's final is 11 a.m., not 2 p.m. as originally scheduled.
