May 21, 2009

College Station, Texas - UCLA women's tennis players Yasmin Schnack and Andrea Remynse suffered a pair of upsets at the NCAA Individual Championships on Thursday, concluding the team's involvement in this year's tournament.

The day started with Schnack, a 9-16 seed in the 64-player singles draw, dropping a 6-1, 6-3 second-round decision to Miami's Bianca Eichkorn. Unfortunately for UCLA the day didn't get any better, as the Bruins' third-seeded duo of Schnack and Remynse were upset in the first round of the doubles draw, falling to Kentucky's Carolina Escamilla/Caroline Lilley, 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.
