Anderson Reaches Semis at National Indoors

Flushing, N.Y. - UCLA's Robin Anderson advanced to the semifinals of one of the biggest tournaments of the tennis season on Friday, as she won a pair of matches at the 2012 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships at the USTA's Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Anderson, who is seeded fifth, began the day with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Northwestern's Kate Turvy. She followed that up with another straight-set win in the quarterfinals, this time defeating Tennessee's Brynn Boren, 6-1, 6-1. Next up for Anderson is a meeting with Cal's Zsofi Susanyi on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (EST). Susanyi is unseeded, however she knocked off top-seeded Lauren Embree of Florida in the second round.
