NEW YORK - Sophomore women's tennis player Robin Anderson notched a straight-set victory in the semifinals of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships at the USTA's Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Saturday, moving within one win of capturing one of the biggest titles of the tennis season.

Anderson, the tournament's fifth seed, downed Pac-12 rival Zsofi Susanyi of Cal 6-1, 6-2 in Saturday's semifinals. She will need to go through another Cal player in order to win the title, as unseeded Golden Bear Anett Schutting was a 7-6(5), 6-4 winner over Florida's Sofie Oyen in the bottom half of the draw.

Anderson is right at home in New York, as the New Jersey native grew up training at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. She is aiming to become UCLA's first National Indoor champion since Jane Chi in 1995. Chi beat teammate Keri Phebus in the final that year.

In addition to being just one win away from the title, Anderson was named the tournament's Sportsmanship Award winner on Saturday.
