S. rankings at No. 5 in the shot put and No. 2 in the discus (behind senior teammate Suzy Powell) … In upper level competition, Sua won the shot put (53-9G) and discus (198-7, meet record) at the U. S. Junior meet and at the Pan American meet in Havana, she was again a double gold winner (shot put, 53-3I; discus, 189-11, meet record) … At the NCAA Outdoor, she won the discus (200-6) and placed third (55-8G, outdoor season-best and No. 4 on the World Junior outdoor chart) in the shot put and at the NCAA Indoor, she set the American Junior Indoor record in the shot put with an indoor personal-best 57-3H (third place and No. 3 in school history) … Also set the American Junior mark in the discus, 208-2 (No. 3 all-time on the U.
