Baucham Places Third, Cosby Fourth in Bruins' Fifth Place Finish at NCAA Indoor Championships

Two Bruin receive All-America honors.

Fayetteville, AR - At the conclusion of the 2004 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at Arkansas' Randal Tyson Track Center, the Bruins finished fifth in the team standings with 40 points. LSU won its third consecutive NCAA Indoor team title with 52 points. Florida finished second with 51 points, followed by Nebraska (third, 45.50), Tennessee (fourth, 43) and UCLA.

In today's action, juniors Candice Baucham and Jessica Cosby each received All-America honors. Baucham placed third in the triple jump with a personal best 44-2.75 (13.48m). It is No. 2 all-time in UCLA history behind Roshanda Glenn's 44-10.25 (1994). Baucham received her first All-America honor.

Cosby competed in the shot put finals this afternoon. She placed fourth with a season best throw of 56-6.50 (17.23m). She received her fourth overall All-America honor and third indoor of her career.
