Partial Bruin Women's Squad Places Sixth at Cal-Nevada Meet

On March 29-30 at Fresno State, the Bruin women sent a partial squad to the Cal-Nevada T & F Championships. UCLA placed sixth, with 69 points. The women's team winner was CS Northridge (129.50) and the UCLA men, the Bruin men sent a full squad, won their team championship, with 204 points.
Final Standings
Stanford Invitational O'Hara, who holds the collegiate outdoor record in the women's pole vault (14-7.25), won the event with a season outdoor best of 14-1.25. Nilsson continued her successful sophomore campaign by placing second in the 1500m, with a lifetime best mark of 4:14.11, No. 5 all-time on the Bruin women's 1500m chart. Earlier this month at the NCAA Indoor meet, Nilsson ran the anchor leg on UCLA's winning distance medley relay and also placed second in the mile. Also at Stanford on Saturday, the Bruin women had two runners in the 800m. Juniors, Jessica Marr and Tiffany Burgess, both members of UCLA's NCAA Indoor championship distance medley relay team, placed eighth (Marr, 2:08.35) and ninth (Burgess, 2:08.6) in the 800m. |
