Senior Rhonda Watkins picked up a regional qualifier in the high jump on Saturday to highlight the Bruin women's track and field team at the UCSD Triton Invitational in La Jolla.

Watkins cleared 5-8.75 to pick up her regional mark as she won the event.

Volleyball star Kaitlin Sather, who joined the team a few weeks ago, tied for fourth with a clearance of 5-5 in the high jump.

In the invite javelin, junior Tara Ross placed second with a throw of 156-0. Sophomore Ashlea McLaughlin won the 400m (54.92) and placed seventh in the 200m (25.57). Also in the 200m, freshman Camilla Dencer finished fourth in a time of 25.19.

Sophomore Shannon Murakami finished third in the 5000m (17:47.80), while juniors Gabrielle Bournes (2:14.91) and Rosa Magana (4:43.46) finished seventh in the 800m and 1500m, respectively.
