HONOLULU - The 10th-ranked UCLA women's volleyball team (5-0) won a 25-30, 32-30, 30-22, 27-30, 15-9 marathon match over Cincinnati on Friday night at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Challenge in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Bruins had four players with double-figure kills in the match, led by Nana Meriwether, who had 18 kills and nine blocks in the contest.

Junior co-captain Colby Lyman had another impressive all-around performance, finishing with 12 kills, three assists, two aces, four block assists and 19 digs in the match. Freshman Kaitlin Sather also had a double-double with 17 kill sand 11 digs with three block assists in the contest. Rachell Johnson hit .324 in the match for UCLA, recording 14 kills, four of the team's nine service aces, six digs and two blocks.

Freshman Nellie Spicer recorded a career-high 63 assists and piloted the Bruins to a .234 team attack percentage, including a .294 clip in game five while the Bearcats hit negative in the deciding game with seven errors and six kills on 20 attempts.

UCLA had 11 blocks as a team to Cincinnati's 12.5, but out-dug the Bearcats by an 80-74 margin. Defensively, UCLA was led by freshman libero Jordan Smith, who had three service aces to go along with her team-high 22 digs in the match.

The Bruins complete tournament play on Saturday evening with a 10 pm PT match against the host school, No. 7 Hawai'i.
