The National Champion UCLA women's volleyball team was honored on Thursday night at the LA Sports Awards, presented by AT&T U-Verse, at Club Nokia at L.A. Live. The Bruins' national title run was recognized as the 10th-greatest L.A. sports moment of 2011.

Head Coach Michael Sealy, as well as players Lainey Gera, Rachael Kidder, Tabi Love and Kelly Reeves were on hand to receive the award. Women's volleyball's national championship was also recognized as the top UCLA sports moment for the past year.

The ninth-seeded Bruins won the program's seventh national championship and fourth NCAA title, defeating #3 Illinois in four sets on Dec. 17 in San Antonio, Texas. On the way to the championship, UCLA also defeated #12 Florida State in the National Semifinals, #1 Texas in the Regional Final and four-time defending champion Penn State in the Regional Semis.

The LA Sports Awards will be aired on Fox Sports West on Friday, March 23 at 10:45 p.m. The show will be re-aired several times in the days after the initial broadcast on FSW and FS Prime Ticket.
