LOS ANGELES - Senior middle blocker Elisabeth Bachman and junior outside hitter Kristee Porter were both named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Pacific Region team, it was announced today. It is the third such honor for both Bachman and Porter.

Bachman, a fifth-year senior for the 11th-ranked Bruins, leads UCLA in blocks and attack percentage. With eight blocks on Dec. 3 against Michigan State in NCAA second-round play, Bachman became the first Bruin in history and fifth Pac-10 player ever to record 1,200 career kills and 600 career digs. She enters Friday's Mideast Regional Semifinal match against Pacific with 1,273 kills and 605 career total blocks.

Porter, a junior from Tyler, TX, has already eclipsed the UCLA record for kills in a single season, entering the Pacific match with 684 kills during the 2000 season. She has posted eight 30-kill matches this season, including tying a career-high with 38 kills on Dec. 3 in UCLA's 3-2 win over Michigan State. Porter is averaging 5.94 kills per game this season, which leads the Pac-10 and is among the NCAA top-five. She is just 20 kills shy of a new Pac-10 single season record for kills in a season.

UCLA's women's volleyball team returns to action on Friday, Dec. 8 at 3 pm Pacific Time, when the Bruins take on Pacific in the NCAA Mideast Regional Semifinal. The match will be broadcast live on www.uclabruins.com
