No. 3 Bruins Post 12-3 Victory at No. 11 Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The No. 3 UCLA women's water polo team (2-0) posted a 12-3 win at No. 11 Michigan (1-1) on Saturday evening in the second game of the Michigan Invitational. Sophomore attacker Emily Donohoe again led the Bruins in scoring, adding four goals against Michigan.
In the win over the Wolverines, UCLA also received two goals each from freshman defender Alys Williams and senior utility Emily Greenwood. Rounding out the scoring with one goal each was freshman attacker Kodi Hill, freshman attacker Rachel Fattal, junior attacker Victoria Kent and freshman defender Maddy McLaren.
Like she did in the opener against San Diego State, Fattal got the Bruins on the board first against Michigan, scoring with 6:23 left in the first period. Audrey Pratt tied it at 1-1 with a power play goal at the 3:29 mark. Donohoe, who scored a goal in each period for UCLA, gave the Bruins a 2-1 lead 20 seconds later. Kelsey Nolan scored on another extra man opportunity to make it 2-2 with 2:46 to go in the opening stanza. The Bruins reclaimed the lead at 3-2 on a power play goal by Greenwood. But seven seconds later, Nolan notched her second goal of the game to end the first quarter scoring at 3-3.
From then on, it was all UCLA, as the Bruins scored nine unanswered goals to end the game with a 12-3 win. The Bruins led 6-3 at halftime after Donohoe (6:51), Hill (4:02) and Williams (2:33, power play) each scored goals for UCLA in the second period.
The third period was the most dominant for the Bruins as they outscored the Wolverines 4-0 in the period to take a 10-3 lead into the final quarter.
Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Sami Hill, played the first three periods in the cage for the Bruins, making six saves. Freshman goalie Alex Musselman patrolled the cage for the Bruins in the fourth quarter, making two stops. Alex Adamson was credited with seven saves for Michigan through the first three periods. Julia Campbell played in goal in the fourth period for the Wolverines, but wasn't credited with any saves.
