Women's Water Polo To Meet Stanford for MPSF Championship
Bruins defeat San Jose State and San Diego State in second round.

STOCKTON, Calif. - The UCLA women's water polo team defeated San Jose State and San Diego State today to earn a trip to the 1998 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championship against the Stanford Cardinal on Sunday.
In the Bruins' first match of the day against San Jose State, UCLA scored the first eleven goals of the match en route to a 12-1 victory. The Bruins' six goals unanswered goals in the third quarter blew the match wide open for a 10-0 UCLA lead.
UCLA's second match of the day was another dominating performance. The Bruins scored two goals in the first 1:13 of the game to take an early 2-0 lead and never looked back. Coralie Simmons scored all three of her goals in the first half and UCLA went on to defeat the Aztecs 12-3.
