No. 2 UCLA Women's Water Polo Wins at No. 7 LMU, 7-6

LOS ANGELES - Sarah Orozco scored the game-winning goal on a penalty shot in overtime to lead the No. 2 UCLA women's water polo team past No. 7 Loyola Marymount, 7-6, in a non-conference match at Burns Aquatics Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Bruins (18-2) led 2-0 after the first quarter and secured a 3-2 cushion at halftime, but Loyola Marymount (15-9) battled back with three goals in the third quarter to secure a 5-4 advantage heading to the final period.
Sebenaler tallied the first of her two goals with 5:09 left in the final quarter to tie the contest, 5-5. Sebenaler scored against for UCLA, this time at the 4:08 mark to push the Bruins ahead, 6-5.
Loyola Marymount's Alexandra Honny, who netted a game-high four goals, scored as time expired in the fourth quarter, tying the game 6-6 and pushing the contest into overtime.
Backed by senior goalkeeper Caitlin Dement's 12-save effort, UCLA held the host Lions scoreless in both three-minute overtime sessions. Neither team capitalized on a 6-on-5 situation in the first overtime, before UCLA drew a five-meter penalty with 2:13 left in the second session.
Orozco slammed home the goal and the Bruins held on for a 7-6 victory. A five-meter penalty shot attempt by LMU with five seconds left in the match was unsuccessful.
UCLA returns to action with its final regular-season game next Saturday evening, hosting No. 1 Stanford. Game time against the Cardinal is 6:30 p.m. at Spieker Aquatics Center.
