Colombian and UCLA alum Mariajo Uribe won double gold in the inaugural golf event at the 2015 Pan American Games, winning the women's and mixed events at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario outside of Toronto.

In the individual event, Uribe shot a four-round total of 9-under par (279), shooting a trio of 70's after a first-round 69. Trailing by one shot after the opening round and two shots after each of the next two rounds, Uribe fired a 2-under 70 on the final day and defeated USA's Andrea Lee by two strokes.

In the mixed event, combining her scores with compatriots Paola Moreno, Mateo Gomez and Marcelo Rozo, Uribe's Colombian team won gold with a score of 27-under, finishing three strokes ahead of the United States.

Golf will make its debut in the Olympic Games next summer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
