Shibahara Continues Riviera Run

LOS ANGELES - UCLA's Ena Shibahara moved into the round of 16 of the main singles draw at the 2016 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Thursday following a straight-set win in the opening round at the Riviera Country Club.
Shibahara, a qualifier, cruised in her opening-round win, downing North Carolina State's Martina Frantova, 6-1, 6-2. On Friday, Shibahara will take on Oklahoma State's Vladica Babic at 10:45 a.m. If she wins, she will face either UNLV's Carol Yang or Florida's Kourtney Keegan at 2:00 p.m.
Shibahara's win on Thursday is her seventh of the tournament, as she already won three matches in pre-qualifying and three more in qualifying to reach the main draw. She has yet to drop a set in any of her seven matches at Riviera.
