Upcoming Olympic Scheduleย ย
Women's Volleyball
Two-time UCLA All-American Karsta Lowe had a great contest off the bench for Team USA, recording a team-best 13 kills, but the U.S. fell to Serbia in the women's volleyball semifinals on Thursday. The United States, coached by UCLA alum Karch Kiraly, will play for the bronze medal on Saturday against either China or Netherlands at 9 a.m. PT. After sitting out the first set and playing sparingly in the second (one kill) and third stanzas (two kills), Lowe played the entire fourth and produced four kills to help force a deciding fifth set. In that set, Lowe had four of the first five Team USA points on kills, adding two more later in the fifth to give her a baker's dozen for the match.
Women's Golf
Colombia's Mariajo Uribe is tied for 31st through 36 holes following an even-par 71 on Thursday at the Olympic women's golf tournament. Overall, she is at 1-under 141. On Thursday, Uribe posted four birdies, balancing her books with two bogeys and a double. Italy's Giulia Sergas shot a 3-over 74 and is +9 (151, 54th) after two rounds. She had two birdies, three bogeys and a double.
