Marathon
In his fourth Olympics, USA Track & Field and UCLA Hall of Famer Meb Keflezighi placed 33rd in the marathon with a time of 2:16.46. Battling the elements and a stomach ailment, Keflezighi slipped just steps away from the finish line, and in true Meb fashion, proceeded to work in some push-ups before completing his 24th career marathon.

The United States placed all three athletes in the Top 35, with Galen Rupp winning bronze, Jared Ward placing sixth and Keflezighi placing 33rd. Rupp is the first USA runner to medal in the marathon at the Olympics since Keflezighi won silver in 2004.
Men's Volleyball
UCLA head coach Coach John Speraw's U.S. men's volleyball team rallied from an 0-2 pool play start in Olympic competition and an 0-2 set start in Sunday's bronze medal match to defeat Russia 3-2, 15-13 in the deciding set. It is the fifth time the U.S. has come away with an Olympic medal (gold in 1984, '88, 08; and bronze in 1992). Also aiding Speraw in coaching Team USA to bronze were assistant coach Matt Fuerbringer, who was a volunteer assistant coach at UCLA in 2013; sport psychologist Andrea Becker, a UCLA assistant coach under Speraw from 2012-15; and team leader Erik Sullivan, a two-time NCAA champion at UCLA.ย Read More
