KOHALA, Hawai'i - The second-ranked Bruins dominated the Nanea Golf Club on Monday, shooting a team score of 8-under 284 in round one and getting even better in the afternoon with a 12-under 280. UCLA sits at 20-under (564) after 36 holes and is 11 strokes ahead of second-place Stanford heading into Tuesday's final round.

On the individual leaderboard, four Bruins are inside the Top Five, led by junior Lilia Vu, who is in second place at 7-under 139 after two rounds. With a shotgun start on the third hole, Vu birdied her first four (#3-#6), as well as #13 and #1, posting a bogey-free, 6-under 67 on the par-73 layout. Vu birdied holes four, five and six at the start of her second round, making just two bogeys on #9 and #1 to record a 1-under 72. The junior is two shots back of Stanford's Andrea Lee for first place.

Two shots back of Vu is freshman Patty Tavatanakit, who is in third place (-5, 141). She birdied her first hole, #1, as well as #6, to go with one double bogey for an even-par 73 in her opening round. On Monday afternoon, she was five shots better and bogey-free, making five birdies on #2, #5, #8, #9 and #18, notching a 5-under 68.

Junior Beth Wu is one behind Tavatanakit at 4-under (142), sitting in solo fourth. In round one, she made a pair of birdies on #6 and #18 to go with three bogeys for a 1-over 74. Wu was six strokes better in the afternoon, shooting a 5-under 68. She made seven birdies, including three in a row on holes #4, #5 and #6, also gaining shots on #9, #10, #13 and #16, adding a pair of bogeys.

Sophomore Mariel Galdiano is tied for fifth at 2-under 144, recording a pair of 1-under 72s on Monday. She began the tournament with three birdies in a row (#4-#6), while also gaining strokes on #13 and #18, adding two bogeys and a double. In the afternoon, Galdiano made four birdies on #5, #6, #9 and #18 to go with three bogeys.

Sophomore Clare Legaspi is tied for 11th (+1, 147), posting a 1-under 72 in her first 18. She made four birdies on #6, #13, #15 and #17 and three bogeys. Legaspi notched a 2-over 75 in the afternoon, recording three birdies on #6, #13 and #18, two bogeys and a triple.

Tuesday's final round will be another shotgun start, beginning at 7:30 a.m. HT/10:30 a.m. PT. Live scoring will be available here.
