EUGENE, Ore. โ The UCLA track and field team closed out the 2017 outdoor season on Friday at the NCAA Championships held at Historic Hayward Field.
Sophomore Rai Benjamin put on a show on the final day of the season as he clocked the third fastest time in UCLA history. In one of the fastest 400m hurdle championship races of all time, Benjamin hit a huge personal best of 48.33 to finish as the runner-up, just 1/100th of second off the winning time of 48.32.ย
Sophomore Michael Burke opened the day by placing 12th in the high jump with a leap of 6-11.75. Also in the field, sophomore Dotun Ogundeji was 19th in the discus with a throw of 179-8.
Junior Daniel De La Torre closed out the meet for the Bruins in the 5,000m by placing 14th with a time of 14:43.49.ย
