LOS ANGELES -ย Senior Sarah Sponcil recorded her team-best fourth double-double of the season with 33 assists and 13 digs, while senior Reily Buechler and freshman Jenny Mosser each had a match-high 11 kills, as the 13th-ranked Bruins swept Loyola Marymount on Wednesday at the John Wooden Center. Set scores were 25-19, 25-18, 25-19.

Buechler hit .409 with five digs and four blocks, while Mosser swung at a .421 clip with eight digs. The Bruins hit a season-best .363 as a team. Sophomore Madeleine Gates added nine kills and five blocks, freshman Mac May had six kills and four digs, junior Kyra Rogers notched five kills and sophomore Savvy Simo tallied eight assists and seven digs.

After five ties and four lead changes early in set one, the Bruins pulled away to take the opener. At 11-8 UCLA, the home team scored six of seven to take a set-best lead of eight at 17-9. Buechler, Mosser and Rogers all had kills, Buechler and Rogers teamed up for a block and Loyola Marymount made a pair of errors.

LMU would get to within three at 21-18, but could get no closer, as a 4-1 run to end the set on two Mosser kills and two Lion errors gave the Bruins the 25-19 victory. Gates was 4-for-5 with no errors in the opening stanza, while Mosser also had four kills. Sponcil added six digs, while Simo posted four. The Bruins out-hit the Lions .385 to .147.

Despite two ties, the Bruins never trailed in set two. After four sideouts to start, the Bruins scored six of seven to go ahead 8-3. Gates had a kill and teamed up on blocks with Buechler and Mosser, Buechler and Sponcil added kills and LMU had an error. The Bruins' lead remained between three and five until a late run by the Lions cut the deficit to 16-15.

From there, the Bruins scored six in a row on kills by Mosser, Rogers and Sponcil and three LMU errors. UCLA went on to win the second by a score of 25-18. Buechler (3-for-8), Rogers (3-for-6) and Sponcil (3-for-3) were all error-free in the second, while Mosser added three kills and three digs, with six different players recording at least two kills. Gates had three blocks, as the Bruins out-hit the Lions .342 to .222.

Mosser had two kills and an ace, Buechler posted two kills and a combo block with Rogers, May added a kill and LMU made three errors.
