Michaela Onyenwere Named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – UCLA forward Michaela Onyenwere was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office today.

Onyenwere averaged 15.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in two road wins on the week. She also averaged 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 83.3 percent (5-of-6) from the free-throw line and 46.4 percent from the field (13-of-28).

She registered career-highs in points (20) and rebounds (11) in the win at Utah, 81-74 on Friday, Jan. 12.

She ten had 11 points and nine rebounds in the win at Colorado, 93-55 on Sunday, Jan. 14, as UCLA got its first road sweep of the season.

This is the seventh freshman honor for UCLA all-time, the first of the 2017-18 season and the first for Onyenwere.
