UCLA Falls to OSU, 9-3, in Regular Season Finale

CORVALLIS, Ore. โ The No. 22-ranked UCLA baseball team endured a 9-3 loss to No. 2 Oregon State on Saturday afternoon at Goss Stadium in the regular season finale for both teams.
The Bruins (35-20, 19-11 Pac-12) had previously clinched the series over the Beavers (41-13, 20-10) with wins on Thursday and Friday. With the weekend's result, UCLA has secured the No. 3 seed in next week's inaugural Pac-12 Tournament.
The game was fairly close early on, with the Bruins trailing just 2-1 after two innings. The Beavers began to pull away after that though, posting a two-spot in the third and a five-spot in the sixth.
UCLA showed signs of life late, bringing in a pair just before the seventh inning stretch.
The Bruins cashed in a leadoff single from Kyle Karros to get on the board in the second, as he moved to third on a Daylen Reyes ground-rule double before scoring on a Darius Perry sac fly.
UCLA worked three consecutive walks to load the bases with one out in the seventh, eventually bringing in runs on RBI singles from Carson Yates and Jake Palmer.
OSU was led by first baseman Garrett Forrester, who went 2-4 with a three-run home run. Center fielder Jacob Melton added a two-run home run in the third.
Action at the Pac-12 Tournament begins on Wednesday.
