Played in all 39 games, making 38 starts during his freshman season … led the team in scoring (17.5 ppg) and rebounding (10.6 rpg) during his freshman season … earned Pac-10 Conference Player of the Year honors and was also named the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year … was one of five players to secure first-team All-Pac-10 honors (along with California’s Ryan Anderson, Arizona State’s James Harden, Stanford’s Brook Lopez and USC’s O.J. Has twice represented the United States national team, winning gold medals at the 2012 Olympics (London) and the 2010 FIBA World Championship (hosted in Turkey) … played alongside former UCLA teammate Russell Westbrook on both of those U.S. basketball teams … while in high school, competed at the 10th annual Nike Hoop Summit – scored 13 points and had eight rebounds in 18 minutes to help the USA Junior National Select Team defeat the World Select Team, 100-80, on April 7, 2007, at FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tenn. … was named to the 2007 USA Basketball Junior National Select Team on Jan. 15, 2007.

Parents are Karen and Stan Love … has one older brother (Collin) and one younger sister (Emily) … his father, Stan, played in the NBA for the Los Angeles Lakers and Washington Bullets and was a collegiate star at the University of Oregon ... his uncle, Mike Love, is the lead singer for the Beach Boys ... his aunt, Kathleen McCartney Hearst, won the 1982 Ironman Triathlon and was inducted into the U.S. Triathlon Hall of Fame ... played AAU basketball for the Southern California All-Stars ... while with the So-Cal All-Stars, Love helped his squad to a 46-0 record, winning five major tournaments and earning three tournament MVP honors.
