Team Notes
**Tonight’s comeback was the largest in UCLA history. The previous biggest comeback was a 22-point deficit in the 2005 Sun Bowl against Northwestern (trailed 22-0 in the first quarter and won 50-38).
 
**It was also the largest fourth-quarter comeback in UCLA history (27 points). The Bruins trailed 24-3 at Stanford in 2005 before winning 30-27 in overtime.
 
**The comeback was the second-largest in the history of FBS College Football (largest: 35 by Michigan State versus Northwestern, Oct. 21, 2006).
 
**The Bruins had 306 total yards of offense in the fourth quarter and 292 yards passing.
 
**The Bruins have won seven straight season openers. UCLA evens the all-time series against Texas A&M at 3-3.
 
**UCLA has won 17 of its last 20 non-conference games and 15 of 16 regular-season, non-conference games under head coach Jim Mora.
 
**Tonight’s game was the first-ever college football contest played at The Rose Bowl on a Sunday.
 
Player Notes
**Junior quarterback Josh Rosen threw for a career-high 491 yards, the third-highest total for a single game in UCLA history. The 35 completions and 59 attempts were each the second most for a single game in school history.
 
**Rosen is tied with Cade McNown for the most 300-yard passing games in school history with 11. He moved into fourth in UCLA history in completions (464) and seventh in touchdowns (37).
 
**Redshirt sophomore tight end Caleb Wilson posted career highs in receptions (15) and receiving yards (203). The 15 receptions were the most for a single game in UCLA history (previous best 14). The 200-yard game was the third in school history and the most ever for a Bruin tight end.
 
**Tonight marked the second time in school history that the Bruins had three receivers catch for over 100 yards, as Wilson went for 203, Darren Andrews for 147 and Jordan Lasley for 100. The only other time was on Nov. 12, 2005 against Arizona State (Chris Markey – 120, Joe Cowan – 109, Marcedes Lewis – 108).
 
** Andrews had career highs in receptions (12) and yards (147), while scoring two touchdowns for the second time in his career. It was his fourth, 100-yard receiving game.
 
**Lasley posted his second career, 100-yard game with four catches for 100 yards.
 
**Lasley (eight), Wilson and sophomore Theo Howard (four) all extended their streaks of consecutive games with a reception.
 
**Redshirt junior defensive back Adarius Pickett recorded a new career best in tackles (11).
 
**Today marks the first time UCLA has started two true freshmen (defensive lineman Jaelan Phillips and defensive back Darnay Holmes) on the defensive side of the ball in a season opener. The last true freshman defender to start a game for the Bruins was safety Rahim Moore in 2008 (vs. Tennessee).
 
**Redshirt junior Stefan Flintoft’s 63-yard punt in the first quarter and 57-yard punt in the second are the two longest of his career. The 63-yard punt was the longest for a Bruin since 2015 (Matt Mengel – 64).
 
**First-career starts: Holmes, Phillips, redshirt freshman offensive guard Michael Alves, junior defensive back Octavius Spencer and sophomore defensive lineman Boss Tagaloa.
