Tersoo Uhaa was named the UCLA football program’s senior associate director of football performance in January 2025. He came to the Bruins from Colorado, where he was the assistant head strength and conditioning coach in 2023 and 2024.

The Buffaloes saw their record improve from 4-8 in 2023 to 9-4 in 2024, capping their turnaround with an appearance in the Valero Alamo Bowl. Two-way standout Travis Hunter collected a multitude of year-end awards, including the Heisman Trophy.

Uhaa was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Georgia from 2020-22. The Bulldogs won College Football Playoff national championships in 2021 and 2022, going 29-1 over that stretch. Defensive tackle Jordan Davis earned the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Outland Trophy in 2021, while quarterback Stetson Bennett (Manning Award) and tight end Brock Bowers (John Mackey Award) were honored as top players at their positions.

Uhaa branched into men’s basketball while working as a graduate assistant at Texas Tech in 2019. That came on the heels of a three-year tenure with the Tennessee State football team. Uhaa was promoted from an assistant coordinator role to the director of strength and conditioning in 2018. He was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Arkansas State ahead of the 2016 season in which the Red Wolves went 8-5 and beat UCF in the Cure Bowl.

Uhaa got his start in collegiate athletics at Georgia Tech, working as a player development intern in 2015 and 2016. He also handled strength-and-conditioning duties at Mount Pisgah Christian School in Johns Creek, Ga. from 2012-14.

A standout running back at Furman, Uhaa made the All-Southern Conference second team in 2009 after piling up 13 rushing touchdowns. He finished his career with the Paladins tied for eighth on the all-time rushing touchdowns list, finding the end zone 31 times.

Uhaa graduated from Furman in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science.
